Wetzel Resident Convention Funding

Background:

The William L. Wetzel Education and Research Foundation established the Convention Funding Program to provide residents an opportunity to attend the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention in order to:
  • provide an educational opportunity.
  • offer exposure to the profession and other peers.
  • demonstrate the importance of organized medicine in maintaining the osteopathic physician’s autonomy in the practice of medicine and in serving as patient advocates.

Funding includes:
  • Paid lodging at the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention.
  • Paid meal ticket plan at the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention.
  • Free Registration at the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention.

Applicants Criteria:
  • have graduated from an osteopathic college and be participating in a post-graduate training program in Missouri.
  • be a member of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
  • have demonstrated leadership skills.
  • have demonstrated a commitment to the profession.
  • be recognized by osteopathic faculty or trainers to be exceptional in interests, willingness, and clinical abilities to serve patients and communities as physicians.
  • be willing to attend the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention and participate in the events offered.

Application Process:

The applicant must:
  • Complete and submit an on-line application by the December 31 deadline
