Brian Bowles
Executive Director

Brian has served as MAOPS Executive Director since 2008. He represents MAOPS at all local, state and federal meetings, as well as with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). He also directs legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts. Along with the Association’s president, Brian visits osteopathic district affiliates, colleges of osteopathic medicine and postgraduate programs. He serves as the staff liaison to the Association’s Executive, Legislative, and Leadership Development Committees, as well as various task forces and fast action teams. He is a past president of the Association of Osteopathic State Executive Directors.
Brian has been married to his wife Chris for 34 years. They have four children: Miller, Sam, Elly and Mikaela. When not working, Brian spends his time traveling to be with the kids, reading, hiking, fly fishing, and playing with his dog Aussie.

Chris Bowles
Chief Operating Officer

Chris wears many hats at MAOPS, serving as the chief operations officer, chief financial officer, database manager, human resources manager and accreditation director. Chris is the jack-of-all trades in the Central Office!
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with Brian and their four children, and gardening, canning, baking, sewing, reading and pursuing family activities.

Jeff Buthod
Director of Education

Jeff is the MAOPS Director of Education. Jeff received his bachelor’s degree in Education from Missouri State University. He also has a master’s and specialist degree in School Administration and Leadership from William Woods University.
Jeff joined MAOPS in 2020 after serving 28 years as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. Jeff is responsible for all continuing medical education (CME) developed by MOAPS and for accrediting CME produced by other organizations. He oversees the planning and development of the Missouri Osteopathic Annual Conference (MOAC) and the VOCCME Virtual Conference, which launches in February each year. He works with the Convention Planning Committee to develop CME and to plan MOAC, and with the Virtual CME Planning Committee to develop the CME programming for the VOCCME virtual conference. He also manages the MAOPS online CME catalog, CMEPRN.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Sharla, since 1990, and they have two adult kids: Blake and Tara. They also have a granddaughter named Quinn. He enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, exercising, and watching movies. He is also an avid Missouri Tiger football & basketball fan, and Cardinal baseball fan.

Erica Hogue
Assistant to the Director of Education
Erica Hogue serves as the Assistant to the Director of Education at MAOPS. She holds a bachelor’s degree in General Studies with a minor in Business and Management.
Erica brings a strong background in public service, having previously worked with the Supreme Court of Missouri, The Missouri Bar, the Missouri Senate, and the Mayor’s Office in Jefferson City. Through these roles, she has developed expertise in organization, communication, and administrative support, with a focus on coordinating operations and supporting leadership.
In her current role, Erica supports the development and delivery of educational programs that serve osteopathic physicians across Missouri.
Outside of her professional work, Erica enjoys spending time with her three boys: Mekhi, Dreyce, and Kamari – as well as attending sporting events, shopping, and traveling with family.

Audrey Feely
Senior Executive Assistant
Audrey has a bachelor’s degree in biology but has spent her career building a strong background in business. She has held a variety of roles over the years, including business director, payroll and accounting manager, bookkeeper, and executive secretary. Audrey brings experience across the education, legislative, and small business fields.
Outside of work, Audrey enjoys spending time with family, traveling, relaxing at the Lake of the Ozarks, and making memories with her daughter, Mia.
