- The MAOPS Board of Trustees met virtually to discuss strategic planning and other association business.
- Staff attended the Osteopathic Advocacy Network update.
- Staff and leadership participated in strategic planning at the AOA Midyear meeting.
- The MAOPS Awards Selection Team reviewed 2025 award nominees.
- The MAOPS Scholar Selection Team reviewed applicants for the 2025 Wetzel Scholar Program.
- President Chris Paynter, DO, and Executive Director Brian Bowles visited the St. Louis Osteopathic District.
- President Paynter presented on “current advocacy issues” to residents at MU Health in Jefferson City.
- Brian Bowles presented on “organized medicine” to residents and students at MU Health in Jefferson City.
- The VOCCME launched on February 14 and will remain available through June 30.
- MAOPS staff hosted a partner webinar for the VOCCME continuing medical education conference.
- MAOPS President Chris Paynter signed several letters with the AOA, including one supporting a DO appointment to MEDPAC and another to Congressional leaders outlining the AOA’s top priorities.
- President Paynter visited Kansas City and met with students from the MAOPS-KCU chapter.
- The MAOPS lobby team testified on multiple medicine-related bills throughout the month.
- MAOPS Past-President David Tannehill, DO, testified in opposition to scope of practice expansion bills in Jefferson City.
- MAOPS and MSMA staff will finalize details for Missouri Physician Advocacy Day.
