YPN Outstanding Student Member
The YPN Outstanding Student Member is presented to one physician during years when a worthy candidate exists for an outstanding accomplishment, event or service during the preceding calendar year. All candidates must be members of Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
The 2025 MAOPS YPN Outstanding Student Member is Samantha DeLuca, OMS III.
Sammy is a 3rd-year student at ATSU-KCOM and a 2nd-year MAOPS Wetzel Scholar. As part of her scholar program, Sammy chose to take on a huge project—starting a podcast for medical students called “The YPN’s Guide for Doing Medical School.” She produced ten episodes, coordinating all aspects from topics to special guests through the recording and launch. The podcast can be found on Spotify, YouTube, and iTunes!
Sammy is now working to expand the podcast to a second season and is recruiting co-producers with the hope that it continues for years to come.
