May is bringing changes. Hopefully, lasting weather changes to Missouri, new medical graduates getting ready to embark on their residencies, and lots of changes to MAOPS!

I am humbled and excited to be the newest president of MAOPS. Following the strategic planning led by Dr. Katie Davenport-Kabonic last year, we are already working on enacting this. To further improve our financial strength, we sold the Central Office building in Jefferson City. This will allow us to reinvest away from physical building maintenance and directly into supporting our members.

Looking ahead, MAOPS has begun strategic succession planning. We have welcomed new energy into MAOPS, including Audrey Feely as our senior Executive Assistant and Erica Hogue as Assistant to the Director of Education, ensuring our institutional knowledge is preserved and paired with new innovation.

To better communicate the “MAOPS value,” we are partnering with Stealth Creative, a full-service marketing firm. They will help us modernize “our brand,” improve our online experience, and address several other odds and ends.

Thank you for your trust, your dedication, and for the honor of serving as your President.
